That song was a sort of a hymn to her, it’d always been like that.
She could exactly recall the moment when she fell in love with that band. It was the first time she knew of them. Actually a few seconds before that. Watching MTV, that video started. She didn’t need to see the name of the band or anything: that frame, those stairs, that first note: that’s when she got the feeling it’d be something great.
Now, 10 years later, she was driving her car. That song started, she had it all before her eyes again: why she’d constantly loved them through all those years.
She knew those lyrics by heart, for years she’d had the urge to put her hand upion her heart while singing them, like an anthem. but now it felt like she was hearing them anew for the first time. Seeing again how inspiring they were.
And it was that line, that line…
it’s your right to laugh at me,
and in turn that’s my opportunity to feel brave.
Rewind, just a few seconds. Again.
That line, again: that line that made her realize that it was so obvious: she had to go to see them, one last time.
Their last tour… she just could not miss it.
Yep: she is me :P
And, whatever it takes, I must see The Ark when they come to play in Italy on May 12th ^^
The Ark, performing Laureal Wreath (I mean: Laureal Wreath!!! From the 1st album, one of my ever favourites!!), and performing it to the greatest, just a few days ago. I want to go to their gig in May…
You have no idea how it feels to see Italy there. Because I know it belongs there.
The thing is: many of us Italians say something like this, but you know: we’re involved. Realizing that also from some other countries people see it like this… it’s a bit of a shock somehow.
I know there are many countries were things are A LOT worse than in Italy: even if we have this curse called Berlusconi it’s still a country where it’s ok to live…. but how I wish for the day when the ‘uninstallation bar’ of Italy becomes completely green too…
